Bio

Sarah Leedberg is an ideator and innovator changing approaches to teaching and learning in order to prepare students for the unknown. A passionate lifelong learner herself, she works to help tomorrow’s leaders find their path and develop the competencies necessary for success regardless of how the future emerges.
Leedberg is currently a doctoral student at Webster University working towards an EdD in Transformative Learning in the Global Community. Prior to this she earned an MS in Foresight from the University of Houston, a MA in Education and Innovation from Webster, and an MS in Geology from the University of Texas at El Paso.

She works as the Assistant Director, Innovation Programs, for Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, an exclusive education-industry partnership between Lehigh University and the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center in San Francisco.

Lehigh@NasdaqCenter fosters the entrepreneurial mindset in students from diverse backgrounds and across all disciplines to create the risk-takers and change-makers of tomorrow. As the assistant director, Leedberg develops innovative strategies and transformative curricula to redefine what entrepreneurship is, whom it can serve, and who can envision themselves as an entrepreneur. Her position sits at the intersection of education, entrepreneurship, and the future of work.

Prior to Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, Leedberg spent seven years honing her skills in curriculum innovation and signature experience program management at the Principia School in St. Louis, Missouri. There, she worked with faculty to develop units that helped ensure transfer through cross-disciplinary integration. She also worked individually and collectively with students to strengthen research and writing skills as well as proper use of technology.

Leedberg believes that hints of the future can be observed today, subtle pathways are unfolding, and when these pathways are understood, individuals can prepare for uncertainties, weather storms, and take advantage of opportunities as yet undefined.

Lehigh@NasdaqCenter is an exclusive education-industry partnership between Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, and the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center in San Francisco, CA. Through this partnership, students are given a number of opportunities to explore all facets of entrepreneurship, from the entrepreneurial mindset to ideation and innovation, to startup culture and venture creation, as well as research translation to the marketplace. Lehigh@NasdaqCenter is simply one of the many ways Lehigh students can navigate and explore the entrepreneurial ecosystem including The Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity, and Innovation, the Mountain Top, Boost, Launch, the Ventures Lab, and so much more. But, more than anything, Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, positioned at the intersection of education, innovation, and the future of work, strives to ensure equitable access to programs for students from a wide range of backgrounds including socio-economic status, as well as college majors outside traditional business fields.

While working at Principia Upper School she earned two more master’s degrees, one in Education and Innovation, and one in Foresight. She has positioned herself as a thought leader in education, presenting at several conferences on the idea of shifting paradigms. She is an activator, someone who turns thoughts into action. She is an ideator, someone who finds connections between disparate phenomena. She is strategic, someone who spots patterns quickly. She is a learner and gobbles up information quickly. She is a polymath, someone who delights in multiple disciplines. She is a futurist, scanning the horizon for emerging ideas and cycling back to action.
